Behaviour for Learning

The Behaviour for Learning (BFL) programme was initiated in our school in September 2016. The BFL teacher, with school management, work together with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) to encourage and support positive behaviour amongst Junior Cycle students.

The programme is intensive and individualised to suit each level 3 student’s behavioural, social, emotional and academic needs. The BFL programme also provides intervention support for students at Level 1 (whole school) and Level 2 (targeted small groups). At whole school level the programme promotes positive behaviour and provides support to staff to manage behavioural issues that may arise.

The programme aims to establish effective responses to challenging behaviour and includes preventive plans and activities to aid students in achieving and succeeding in school.

The Behaviour for learning Teacher for 24/25 is Ms J. Yorke.
