'Curragh Community College is a vibrant and diverse learning community, fostering a culture of care and respect amongst our students, parents/guardians, and staff in a safe and inclusive space'
As mentioned in our mission statement, Curragh Community College is a safe and inclusive space for all students and staff.
Over the last year, the school has been working towards achieving the 'LGBTQ Quality Mark' with Belong To. The main aim of which, is to ensure that Curragh Community College is a safe and supportive enviroment for our LGBTQ+ students.
As part of this, there have been a number of exciting developments in the school:
- The establishment of our student 'Ally Club' - which meets regularly in the school. This is open to all students who wish to attend.
- All staff have completed mandatory training with Belong To in relation to LGBTQ+ issues within schools.
- The establishment of a student support team for LGBTQ+ students. Currently these include: Ms Selina Conway, Ms Danielle Doyle and Mr Aidan McColgan.
- The schools participation in the annual 'Stand Up Week'.
Should parents or students require further support on this, feel free to contact a member of the student support team or Belong To directly.
