This week is Mental Health Awareness Week in Curragh Community College which links in with World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10th October. Across the week students and staff will engage with various lessons and activities that bring the conversation of Mental Health to the forefront of our thinking.
There are lots of lessons planned to cover various topics such as coping strategies, self-esteem, the impact of social media and ways to promote positive mental health. We have lots of activities to look forward including movie screenings, a whole school walk, a guest speaker and a hug in a mug on Thursday. We are running a mental health 1 minute make a movie competition and have lots of positive affirmations have been placed around our school buildings.
