First years engaged in their first assembly of the year last week. This was an opportunity to celebrate their successes on their first 7 weeks in secondary school, to reflect on how it has been, and to remind everyone of some key expectations from within our school's Behaviour Matrix and Ethos. Ms. Horan (year head) led the assembly which was also attended by a class tutor, assistant year head and a class teacher. Students got an opportunity to share one positive thing that they have experienced since beginning in Curragh Community College - one student commented that they made new friends, another that they are more able to learn, another that it helped their day have more structure and another that they enjoy coming to school more now. These were lovely reflections to hear and highlight how well the first years have settled into our school.
